Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox 2.0 continues to be a Layout Level web browser built for usability, security, accessibility, Web Standards, flexibility, extensibility and reliability. Version 2.0 of Firefox uses Gecko 1.8.1 providing support for SVG 1.1 Text and JavaScript 1.7. Improved usability has been added including Add-on Manager, resume previous sessions if a crash or rebooted computer without closing Firefox. Plus built-in spell checking for when using forms on webpages.
No matter what your technical or Internet knowledge, your age, your desktop operating system, you can use it. It wipes the floor of the whole mansion with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape 4.
It stops irritating automatic popup windows as well as supporting online fraud protection and the ability to view more than one webpage in a single copy of the browser using reorganizable tabs. Improved options/preferences, extension and update features have also been implemented.
Being a free of charge software you can download Firefox at 5.6 MegaBytes for Widnows, 9.2MB for Linux and 18MB for Mac OS X with an easy to use installer you can be up and running in no time. It can even transfer existing bookmarks/favourites, cookies, settings, history from various web browsers.
If Firefox does not have the built in feature you need there are hundreds of extensions and visual themes to extend the power and look of your most prized web browser: update.mozilla.org :: Extension Room.
